CCAP AUTHORS NEW REPORT FOR NORWAY ON NEW WAYS TO FUND CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
10/01/09 – CCAP has authored a new report titled "Norway's Proposal to Auction Assigned Amount Units: Implementation Options," which the government of Norway asked CCAP to complete. CCAP President Ned Helme officially rolled out the report Sept. 30 at the Umbrella Group for the Heads of Negotiating Delegations and Oct. 1 at the well-attended Seminar on the Mexican and the Norwegian Financing Proposals, which took place during the UN climate talks in Bangkok.

CCAP and Mexican Environment/Energy partners reach out to Mexican Industry to determine Effective Climate Change Policy
9/18/09 - CCAP recently held a Mexico Sectoral Study Workshop, co-hosted with the Mexican Environmental Ministry (SEMARNAT) and the Mexican Association for Energy Economy (AMEE) in Mexico City. During the workshop, CCAP engaged the Mexican iron and steel, cement, electricity, and oil refining sectors in a debate that will help government improve climate change policy design.

NEW CCAP REPORT EXPLORES NEW APPROACH TO ENCOURAGE MORE MITIGATION ACTIONS IN KEY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
8/14/09 - CCAP recently published a new paper called Technology-Based Sectoral NAMAs: a Preliminary Case Study of China's Cement and Iron & Steel Sectors. This paper explores the possible use of a technology-based sectoral NAMA for energy-intensive industries.

NEW BROOKINGS INSTITUTION BOOK INCLUDES CCAP PRESIDENT NED HELME'S CHAPTER ON CHINA CLIMATE CHANGE PLAN
8/10/09 - Brookings Institution Press published a new book titled Climate Change and Global Poverty: A Billion Lives in the Balance?, which features a chapter on China climate change policy written by CCAP President Ned Helme. The chapter details the actions China has taken under its National Climate Change Program to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

CCAP SAYS UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE IN BONN SET THE STAGE FOR GLOBAL ACTION IN COPENHAGEN
6/24/09 -- CCAP was in the middle of the action in Bonn. CCAP hosted a number of events, released various papers on topics of relevance to the negotiations and educated and influenced key players on the conceptual design of sectoral NAMAs, along with the governance of financing in the post-2012 international climate agreement.
