ICAT Partner Forum

Senior Climate Finance Associate Samantha Youngeun Shin will be moderating and presenting during an interactive session on Tracking Climate Finance at the opening day of the 2023 Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) Partner Forum.

Representatives of ICAT's 50+ partner countries and regional hubs, expert advisors, and partners will come together for 3 days of knowledge sharing on transparency.  

Samantha’s session will focus on key elements and relevant tools for climate finance transparency frameworks, such as collaborative mechanisms for climate finance data collection, classification and processes. The session will feature group discussions in which country representatives share key challenges, enabling/success factors in tracking finance and how to use climate finance results for policymaking.  

CCAP is currently working with ICAT partner countries in implementing climate finance methodologies and strengthening their transparency capacities at the national level.  Understanding and reporting an accurate and comprehensive landscape of climate finance at the national level is essential for compliance with international agreements as well as successful Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) implementation. By establishing and implementing climate finance transparency frameworks, the project will contribute to ongoing initiatives that strengthen the transparency and effectiveness of climate policies and actions in developing countries.
