DecarBOOST Workshop VI: Community of Practice on "Investment and Climate"

Engaging key stakeholders for decarbonization measures in Latin America

CCAP will help facilitate the working groups during this workshop hosted by DecarBOOST on the involvement of key stakeholders for decarbonization in the LAC region. 

The Community of Practice (CoP) on Investment and Climate is the space of the DecarBOOST project that seeks to articulate actors that support, develop and promote climate and sustainable finance and investment in LAC, and that seek to develop and promote concrete, viable and globally recognized solutions to finance decarbonization in the region. One of the objectives of the CoP is to promote collaborative work and inter-learning to contribute to the design of instruments and transformation paths that are necessary to overcome specific financing and investment barriers and take advantage of opportunities in a specific economic sector. 

The workshops are spaces designed and implemented by the knowledge management component of the project, to increase inter-learning on climate, finance and investment in Latin America, together with specialists willing to collaborate in advising on these issues and generate proposals to increase financial flows in Latam. In addition, these spaces will provide the opportunity to generate contacts between the various financial actors, investors and climate specialists.

Questions to address: 

• Which key actors are to increase climate finance mobilization, in order to implement the NDCS across the LAC region?
• What is needed to involve the financial sector in low emissions investments?
• Which involvement actions from public and private actors should be prioritized in the short term?
